Ch-Ch-Changes.

I can't believe it's already 2011. Boy, have the years just flown by. Seems like just yesterday, I was baking a wee one in the oven, planning my wedding day with friends. Better yet, seems like just yesterday I was five years old, building blanket forts and playing hide and go seek in the woods out back of my house.

There have been lots of changes to my life this year. I'm tired of getting into a funk, every year, making all these resolutions (the "I will not do"'s and the "Have to stop that"'s) and setting the bar way too high for myself. This year, I vowed to make the process a lot easier. I chose to dedicate the next 365 days to soul searching and finding out who I really am as a person. Sounds cheesy, yada yada, but it's true.

Our little family has come a long way over the past year or so.  Ask anyone we know and they'll tell ya. We went from young parents of an infant, lost, impressionable, dazed and confused about the real world to mature, successful, free spirited parents of a rambunctious toddler, ready to plant roots in this world.

A lot can happen in one year. That's why I've made it my mission to focus this year on it just being us. And yeah, friends are pretty important too. As we all need 'em at some point. But like the seasons, they come and go. So I'm learning to not invest so much effort into relationships with others and plan to put forth that extra energy into progressively increasing the ones I already have with family and loved ones.

This year is gonna be different. It's my year. And I'm gonna make the most of every little second, no matter what cost. I can't continue to waste my life away on nothing. I just can't do it anymore.

So here's to a new year, new changes, new beginnings, new journeys.
